iRest Yoga Nidra Workshop

Sunday, Jul 25 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Join us for an introduction to iRest® Yoga Nidra Meditation! Yoga nidra (also known as "yogic sleep") is an ancient practice that promotes deep relaxation and rest. iRest is a secular (non-religious) meditation practice taught worldwide in yoga studios, community centers, schools, clinics, correctional facilities, and in U.S. military hospitals. Research has shown that iRest reduces PTSD, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, chemical dependency, and depression.

In this 90-minute workshop, we'll discuss the foundations of this practice, which include body and breath sensing, intention-setting, and exploring feelings and beliefs. Experience a full 45-minute iRest practice guided by Elizabeth Wood, RYT 500 and iRest Level 2 teacher.

There will be time afterward to share your experience and ask questions. This workshop is appropriate for new and experienced meditators. The practice can be experienced while lying down or seated.

What you'll receive:

  1. Access to the workshop;

  2. A printed handout; and

  3. Link to an audio guided meditation.

Cost: $27 per student.

Teacher: We are excited to welcome Elizabeth Wood back to the studio! Elizabeth is a Columbus-based yoga and meditation teacher. She moved to Chillicothe in 2002 for her first full-time job after college, and worked as an education reporter for the Chillicothe Gazette. She covered school district happenings in Ross and Pike counties, including a lengthy teacher strike. Her last event at Explorer Yoga (in March 2020) was sold out, so don't wait too long to register!
