Solstice Night, Solstice Light

The Winter Solstice marks the shortest day and longest night of the year, and marks the gradual return to the light. It is the perfect time to work on kindling your own inner light of awareness so that you can enter the new year the way you want; with energy, creativity, and a plan for the future.This special offering will include time for reflection so that you can set some goals for the coming months; things that you would like to reflect on or learn before the season changes and you find yourself in busier times once again. The practice will include yogic breathing techniques, slow, gentle postures, and essential oils. It will conclude with restorative (resting) postures and a special yogic sleep (Yoga Nidra) meditation; this is a state of consciousness between sleep and wakefulness where the body is completely relaxed but the mind stays awake. Props (blankets, bolsters, and blocks) will be used to help support your body and promote maximum comfort and relaxation. You will receive a journal, pen, and tealight to use during the practice. Wear clothes that you can move in; layers are recommended. If you have a favorite blanket and/or pillow, feel free to bring them. This event is great for ALL levels; beginners are especially welcome!
